The Forsyth County Beekeepers Association (FCBA) invites you to embark on a fascinating journey into the world of beekeeping with their upcoming 2024 Bee School. This program will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to become a certified beekeeper through presentations, demonstrations, mentors, class instruction, and practical experience.  With in-person instruction, demonstrations, and self-directed asynchronous online learning, the FCBA Bee School offers a flexible and comprehensive learning experience that culminates with an optional certification exam.

Schedule and Location:
The in-person Bee School sessions will take place on January 20, February 3, February 24, and March 2 at N.C. Cooperative Extension - Forsyth County Center located at 1450 Fairchild Road, Winston-Salem. These sessions are tailored to provide participants with practical insights and hands-on experiences in beekeeping.

Curriculum:
The Bee School curriculum covers a wide range of topics essential for successful beekeeping. From understanding honey bee biology and seasonal hive management to disease prevention and equipment purchasing decisions, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the intricate world of beekeeping. The classes will be led by experienced beekeepers from the Forsyth County Beekeepers Association, ensuring that you receive top-notch guidance and insights.

Certification Exam:
For those looking to validate their newfound knowledge, an optional written North Carolina State Beekeepers Association (NCSBA) certification exam will be held on April 6 at N.C. Cooperative Extension - Forsyth County Center located at 1450 Fairchild Road, Winston-Salem. . In order to take the written exam, student must be a member of the NC State Beekeepers Association which is an additional cost of $15.Successfully passing this exam not only serves as a testament to your expertise but also opens doors to further opportunities in the world of beekeeping.

Cost and Membership:
The cost of the entire Bee School program is $75, which includes all in-person sessions, and access to the online course resources. Additionally, participants are required to become members of the Forsyth County Beekeepers Association for $10. This membership not only supports the local beekeeping community but also provides access to a network of experienced beekeepers for ongoing support and mentorship.
