For more than 80 years, North Carolina 4-H camping has taught youth life skills through centers located from the mountains to the sandhills to the coast. Each year, more than 4,000 campers from across the state participate in 4-H camping programs at North Carolina’s 4-H educational centers. Sponsoring a youth to attend 4-H Camp will provide a safe, secure, and healthy environment to explore life-long adventures.

The mission of the 4-H camping program is to use natural and social environments to provide learning experiences that are age-appropriate. 4-H camp also provides young people an opportunity to develop life skills in a safe and fun-filled setting with qualified and nurturing camp staff. All 4-H residential camps are accredited by the American Camp Association.

The hands-on learning experiences they will participate in are canoeing, archery, swimming, horseback riding, ropes/ challenge course, and recreational activities. These life skills will expand their confidence levels in teamwork, communication, self-esteem, and self-reliance.

Forsyth County needs your help with our “Send a Kid to 4-H Camp” Campaign. This summer, Forsyth County 4-H will be taking a group of youth ages 8-14 to Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational in Center in Reidsville, NC the week of June 26- July 1, 2022. The cost for camp attendance is $500.00 per child, which covers boarding, food, staff, and activities for the week. If you decide to gift a child sponsorship, your gift may be tax-deductible.

You may print and return your donation form to Forsyth County 4-H, 1450 FairchildA female youth participating in archery with a bow and arrow. She has long hair, white tip and jean shorts. Rd.
