Collapse ▲Spring is here and beautiful days are ahead. It’s time to plan and preserve fresh-grown produce to enjoy in the fall and winter. Are you new to canning or an experienced canner? Whatever your situation, NC State Extension will offer Home Food Preservation workshops throughout the Spring and Summer months where we will cover water bath & pressure canning, jams & jellies, pickling, freezing, and much more! You can participate online (Multi-County HPF Series) or in person (Forsyth County and Alamance County).
The schedule for online workshops is as follows:
- April 22nd – Introduction to Canning – one session in the morning and one in the evening (Choose one to attend).
- May 6th – Strawberry Freezer Jam (fun class for the whole family)

For in-person workshops the times will vary, please visit the registration page for specific details. Space is limited to 15 people. In-person workshops will open up for registration 3 weeks before the scheduled workshop (keep an eye out or sign up for the reminder alert).

May 29th – Quick Pickling (Forsyth) June 7th – Quick Pickling (Alamance) June 14th – Lacto-fermented Pickles (Alamance)
