The Art of Food has been around for centuries; cultures around the world identify themselves by the uniqueness of their plated foods bringing pleasure to our daily lives, bringing people together to feast on lavishly created foods. Food in and of itself has an appeal greater than just hunger. The artistic combination and beauty food has to offer inspires people to get creative in the kitchen.

Well plated and presentable foods/dishes can entice healthy and nutritious food choices from toddlers to adults inspiring families to eat a balanced meal. Studies show when we make food look GOOD, it will taste even better too.

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, offered in September 2023 a program series introducing 4 different techniques linked to food art: Focaccia Bread Art, The Mandala Plate (designs that bring balance to your life), Fruit & Vegetable Carving, and Charcuterie Board creations. If you missed these workshops, I have attached the individual recorded sessions for your viewing pleasure. Registration is required to view the recordings. Please follow the prompts to register once you click on the links. Password to access the recordings is: ArtandFood23!
