Forsyth County Creek Week

(Updated: Feb. 20, 2026, 3:52 a.m.)

Did you know that most of the municipal water (including our drinking water) in Forsyth County comes from Yadkin River and Salem Lake? Whether you rely on clean water for farming or for a drink on a hot day, we are connected to and have a responsibility to protect our waterways and the ecosystems that sustain them in our community.

Forsyth Creek Week is a county-wide initiative that helps connect the dots between quality of life and the health of creeks and streams, not only as a water source, but as a source of recreation and aesthetics. At locations across the County, Creek Week offers recreational activities, hands-on learning experiences, dynamic guest speakers, children’s activities and many other ways to appreciate, enjoy and protect our creeks and streams. We hope you will find a way to get involved!
