Forks on Friday is returning in fall of 2023! N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, is excited to offer lunch-and-learn classes about gardening. These classes are offered in partnership with Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Forsyth County .

Forks on Friday is where garden forks meet dinner forks. Bring your lunch to enjoy while learning gardening skills at these classes on Fridays from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m..

Registration for each program will be available 2 weeks prior to the program date on our Eventbrite page.

September 8 – Native Plants of Note

Join us for an insider’s preview of some of the choice native plants to be offered in the Forsyth County Extension Master Gardener Plant Sale. The sale (coming up on September 16) will feature a wide variety of plants with emphasis on native plants.

October 6 – Composting at Home

Leslie Rose, Horticulture Agent & Director of the Arboretum at Tanglewood Park

Compost is a valuable addition to any garden and is easy to do at home. Gain ideas for incorporating a composting system in your yard.

November 3 – Captivating Containers

Eva K. Bingham, Landscaper

Learn to make interesting container gardens appropriate for the season, including some that contain native plants. This class will include a demonstration of planting in a container and creating tabletop arrangements using materials from the garden.
