Henderson County 4-H’ers!

Congress 2023

Emma Barber, second to left on the bottom row, was inducted into 4-H Honor Club!

The week begins on Saturday with our 4-H Presentations finals on campus and ends with an opening ceremony, the official kick-off to 4-H Congress, and Honor Club Tapping! Emma Barber is Henderson County’s newest inductee to 4-H Honor Club and we could not be more proud! Emma also ran a great campaign to become a State 4-H Officer!

Congress 2023

Following Honor Club tapping and State officer campaign speeches it is back to the dorms where our 4-H Congress delegates stay and get a taste of college life.

Sunday is packed full of workshops! These workshops vary in topic to appeal to various interests and introduce youth to opportunities outside of their comfort zones. For example, public speaking – “Share Your Story” at first was seen as nerve-wracking with rumbles of “I don’t want to public speak..” but by the end of the day it was deemed the favorite workshop by our Henderson County 4-H’ers on Sunday! Sunday evening of Congress is always 4-H Entertains! Henderson County had a representative in the 4-H Entertainment show on the big stage. Alyssa Hart performed a beautiful solo piece on the piano! Congress 2023

Monday and Tuesday of Congress were full days as well with more workshops, a keynote motivational speaker, a tour of the College of Textiles, and our Hands to Service project! This year our Hands to Service was a partnership between 4-H and Hooked on Books!

Henderson County is so proud and thankful for our 4-H’ers, volunteers, parents, and supporters who help make 4-H Congress a reality for our 4-H’ers! We are already looking forward to next year’s annual Congress!
