Summer Fun and Your Imagination

Summer sunny yellow background with beach ball

Summer is my favorite season! I look forward to the endless moments and memories with family and friends. This summer will look different for many reasons. For one, many families will be spending more time together due to the national pandemic. It may not be so bad, though! This is the perfect opportunity to explore your city and find some gems within your backyard. Have you ever considered a bucket list? A bucket list may be an easy way to make sure everyone in the house is happy and provide input to try a new activity. Don’t know where to start? Here are some ideas to possibly try on your bucket list:

  • Have a picnic in your yard
  • Make Ice Cream at home in a bag
  • Try one of your local walking trails
  • Run through a sprinkler
  • Enjoy a water balloon fight
  • Make popsicles with fresh fruit
  • Plant some flowers
  • Blow bubbles
  • Have a water gunfight
  • Stargaze in the backyard
  • Watch a movie outside
  • Ride bikes ( or learn to ride a bike)
  • Learn how to cook on the grill ( with parents guidance)
  • Have fun in the summer rain
  • Make s’mores at home  ( either in the kitchen or outside)

Many summer camps may not meet face-to-face but there are still virtual opportunities available. For example, 4-H will be offering virtual Summer camp opportunities, those can be accessed at 4-H Summer Virtual Programs.

As you begin to plan remember to have fun and make lasting memories. Don’t forget your camera! We look forward to seeing some of your awesome memories.
