North Carolina A&T State University will be celebrating the 36th annual Small Farms Week, March 21-26, 2022. Small Farms Week is truly a statewide event that recognizes the contributions of small farmers in our counties throughout the state of North Carolina. In honor of this event, Forsyth County Center will participate in the "Extension at the Table" food drive. The can food drive will run until Friday, March 11, 2022. We will accept items in the office located at 1450 Fairchild Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
This year we will collect non-perishable ingredients for a family meal and donate a meal to families in need at a local elementary school. Our hope is that we will be able to provide meal bags for up to 10 families that consist of 4 to 5 members. We have decided to provide a Chicken Chili Meal for families in need. All items are non-perishable and can be easily made with little to no additional requirements. We are asking that if you donate, you provide all items listed on the flyer. However, we will take smaller donations of the items listed below.
1 can chicken breast
1 can chicken broth
1 can kidney beans
1 can of black beans
1 can of pinto beans
1 can sweet corn
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato paste
1 packet dried taco seasoning
