Forsyth County Agriculture Agent Mary Jac Brennan will be giving tours of N.C. Cooperative Extension’s Pawpaw Demonstration Orchard at the Forsyth County Agricultural Building on these dates:
∙ Wednesday August 22 at 5:30 pm
∙ Friday August 24 at 10:00 am
∙ Saturday August 25 at 2:00 pm
The orchard was planted in 2009 and has been producing fruit since 2012. The pawpaw tree produces a large edible fruit and is native to our region. The tree has an attractive habit of growth and is well-suited for residential gardens as well as for commercial cultivation.
No registration is required…just meet front of the Forsyth County Agricultural Building a few minutes before the start of the tour. Please wear walking shoes as the terrain is sloped and can be slippery. The tour will be cancelled in the event of rain. The orchard is located at 1450 Fairchild Road in Winston-Salem.
The orchard is looking great and we hope to see you on a tour!
