Every participant will leave the workshop with the PLT K-8 Activity Guide which includes 96 activities correlated to the NC Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards. The PLT activity guides are provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association. CEU renewal credits are available. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I in the EE Certification Program (K-8).

Differentiated instruction? Technology connections? Literature links? STEM? The PLT activity guide covers it all!!! The PreK-8 guide is correlated to the Common Core (math and ELA) as well as to the NC Essential Standards (science and social studies). Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop. Please bring a bag lunch and prepare to be outside! NCDA & CS will be certifying scales at the Forsyth Cooperative Extension office on Monday April 1 beginning at 8:30 am for farmers who sell at local farmers’ markets. Those that sell produce and other items by weights must have their scales certified each year. The North Carolina Department of Agriculture will be certifying weigh scales on Monday, April 1, 2019 at the Forsyth Cooperative Extension office located at 1450 Fairchild Rd. in Winston-Salem. Scales need to be NTEP approved to be legal for use in North Carolina to comply with laws dictated by the NC Department of Agriculture. Stop by with your scales. Attach a sticky note with the county you live in, your name, address and phone number to each scale that you want to have certified. There is no charge for this service.
