Collapse ▲The farm is 269 acres in size located in the gently rolling landscape of the upper Piedmont region of North Carolina. It’s approximately six miles northeast of Hillsborough and just northwest of the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), one of the strongest markets for local food in the country. It is also just less than an hour east of Greensboro and the Triad area, which is another emerging market for local food in North Carolina.
The farm has a pasture area of approximately 32 acres, currently being leased Patrick Purcell, a young, local dairy farmer planning to add an organic dairy component to his existing dairy operation. There is currently approximately 15 acres either in or could be used for produce and flower production once infrastructure is available to support it. The rest of the farm is either in forest or conventional production. The conventional cropland could be used in the future to support the Breeze Farm Incubator.
