Come join N.C. Cooperative Extension and celebrate NC Crunch Day with us!
NC Crunch events across North Carolina in October are celebrating Farm to School and Early Care and Education Month by crunching into a locally grown fruit or vegetable. This event is about uniting together to celebrate North Carolina agriculture, locally grown fruits and vegetables, and healthy eating.
NC Crunch Day offers kids and adults an opportunity to learn about locally-grown produce as well as honor all those who contribute to feeding our kids and communities–from farmers, farmworkers, and food hub distributors, to School and Early Care Nutrition professionals, educators, garden coordinators, bus drivers, and transportation professionals. It’s also a fun way to connect food and agriculture in classroom curricula – from science to art.
N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center will Celebrate NC Crunch Day by holding a FREE fun morning event called 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑩𝒚 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for children ages 5 to 12 with an adult chaperone present.
Come join the fun and learn everything there is to know about PUMPKINS from fun facts to health benefits and recipes.
We will offer pumpkin canvas painting for adults where you can relax and have fun too! Adults will also have a chance to try a yummy pumpkin recipe that when you make it at home your kids will be sure to love! The kiddos will be next door having their own fun with pumpkin painting and pumpkin pie making.
