Collapse ▲Spring is almost here and beautiful days are ahead. Time to preserve some of the fresh produce to enjoy in the fall and winter time. New to canning or an experienced canner? Whatever your situation, you are welcome to join N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center’s Home Food Preservation (HFP) Series offered in-person from May through October 2024.
The 2024 Schedule is as follows:
May 8 – Sweet Spreads August 14 – Fermentation
May 22 – Pickling September 11 – Dehydration
June 19 – Canning Salsa October 2 – Meat Canning
July 10 – Freezing
For specific details and registration for the In-Person Home Food Preservation Workshops, click Forsyth County’s Eventbrite Page to check out what is coming up from May through October. Each session will open up for registration 3 weeks prior to the scheduled workshop.
NOTE***Prerequisite for In-person workshops – If you do NOT have any experience or have limited experience in canning, please register for the online Introduction to Canning session #1 OR take time to view this video (registration is required and the passcode is: Intro2can!) to familiarize yourself with the basics of canning. All ongoing sessions are fast-paced and prior understanding of canning is required.
