Aiden Kernodle finished the 4-H Farm Credit Showmanship Circuit strong! He showed beef heifers at multiple shows, placing 1st in senior showmanship during the last show and 4th overall for the circuit in senior showmanship. This is his first year showing beef heifers. Aiden also showed beef heifers for the first time at the NC State Fair. Aiden received his Hereford beef heifer (shown in the photos above) in 2020 as part of the Bill Perry Heifer Chain program that allows youth to get a good start into the beef cattle industry through showing and owning a heifer.

Representing Alamance County 4-H, Aiden Kernodle competed in the State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging and Skillathon Contest held October 30-31, 2021. Aiden placed 8th in senior skillathon quality assurance, 4th in senior skillathon evaluation, 11th in senior skillathon identification, and 11th senior overall. Aiden competed on a mixed team with Bladen County, the team placed 2nd overall in the senior skillathon division.

Sage & TurkeyHutch showing goats

Sage and Hutch also showed turkeys and meat goats at the NC State Fair. Sage placed 2nd in her turkey class and Hutch placed 3rd. Several Alamance County 4-H’ers show in the Youth Market Turkey Show and NC State Fair each year, we are proud of them all!
