Get Ready, Stay Ready! is a free virtual preparedness program focused on providing Forsyth County residents with the need to know information on how to build a kit, make a plan, and stay informed on the natural disasters and emergencies that impact the county.
This online Get Ready, Stay Ready! class series will meet via Zoom 1–2 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday from September 15–September 22, 2020. Sessions will be recorded for later viewing if needed, but live participation is encouraged!

Emergency Planning and Disaster Kits:
Tuesday, September 15, 2020, 1–2 p.m.
It is important to practice emergency preparedness in the event of a potential disaster. One way to prepare your household is to create a basic emergency kit. Attend this virtual workshop to find out what supplies are needed for a disaster kit and how emergency planning can benefit yourself and your family.
Be Prepared Forsyth
Thursday, September 17, 2020, 1–2 p.m.
Leigha Cordell, Logistics Coordinators with Forsyth County Emergency Management, will discuss the need to know disaster readiness information and services available for Forsyth County residents. Attendees will learn about the disasters and emergencies impacting Forsyth County and how Emergency Management prepares residents to “Be Ready” at all times.
Preparing Yourself Financially
Tuesday, September 22, 2020, 1–2 p.m.
Financial emergencies can include car repairs, unemployment, medical bills, or family emergencies. Patrice Dollar, Family Resource Management Specialist at N.C. A&T State University Cooperative Extension will provide participants with tips and strategies on preparing for financial emergencies. Information on emergency savings, budgeting, and protecting important records are a few topics that will be highlighted.
