Collapse ▲Community members are invited to visit North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, on Friday, June 1 for an Open Garden Day in the Demonstration Gardens. The gardens are located at the Forsyth County Agriculture Building, 1450 Fairchild Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
The Demonstration Garden contains a variety of plants that you can grow in a home landscape in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Join us to learn more about trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, fruits, and vegetables that are all suitable for gardens in this area.
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will be on site to walk with you through the garden and teach you about the plants you find there. Volunteers can answer your questions about gardening in the Piedmont. Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are trained in horticulture and maintain the Demonstration Garden. Draw on their expertise as they walk with you through the garden. Education about common weeds found in lawns and gardens will also be available during this event.
Light refreshments will be available and guests are invited to come and go as they please between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

If you cannot attend the Open Garden Day, you are always welcome to take a self guided tour through the Demonstration Garden. The garden is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
